I love photographing families. When I get to photograph a family of a former bride, I am really happy.

We photographed Katrena and Paul’s wedding five years ago and we all commented about how quickly time goes by and agreed that it was hard to believe. Anyway, this was a fun time for me. We met at their beautiful home and I really enjoyed Kyline and Isaac, their boys. I hope you will enjoy their photographs.

Here is the slideshow from our recent session with the Talbert family. We are super excited for them. The newest addition to their family, McHaney, is beautiful.

Newborn baby girl, McHaney, is ten days old in these pictures. Her Mom and Dad brought her to see me. Aunt Joanne and brother, Trace, came too and what a nice time we had.

Trace is two and half. He’s a good-lookin’ boy.

I love photographing children. The little guy pictured here is a charmer, for sure, and photographing him was a pleasure. I also got to meet his older brother and sister, Hudson and Shelby, and, of course, his mom and dad, Kevin and Erin.

I am totally thankful for the privilege to be a portrait photographer.

I know you’ve all been waiting for our annual family pictures so I have good news for you. The wait is finally over!!! Prepare yourself to be assaulted with WAY too many pictures of us. It won’t hurt, I promise. Mom and Dad did a PHENOMENAL job. I seriously love these pictures. Man it’s good to have professional photographers in your family (Don’t be jealous. I know, life isn’t fair. Ok, be jealous then. I totally understand:).

Thank you mom and dad for these pictures of my family. You captured us the way we really are. Love you guys.

Kate is 6 Months Old

Okay, in my last post I said I love to photograph families. Now in this post, I want to say how much I love to photograph children. This is especially true when I get to photograph children who are from a family that I have photographed a lot. (This is a good time to insert that I love my job/career/calling/ministry).

Having friends like Laura Newton is one of the reasons I feel this way. She is an amazing woman and it gives me great pleasure to show pictures of the newest Newton, Kate.

Elise and Mark Randolph Family

I love to photograph families. I especially love to photograph growing families. And I really, really love to photograph growing families whom I have known for lots of years.

I go way back with Elise and Mark (yes, I photographed their wedding) so need I say more? And, yes, I have photographed Jenna and Nathan, their adorable children. And now, Baby Three is on the way!!! And, yes, I am excited.

Grant Best, Children Photography at Coolidge Park 2012

I have commented several times about the joy of seeing the children of a former bride and groom. Here’s Grant Best, the son of Sharon and Garth, whose parents were photographed by us back in 2008.

Garth and Sharon’s journey began when Sharon met Garth’s mom. Seeing the VMI logo on Mrs. Best, Sharon spoke up and said her Dad went there. The two of them talked and Mrs. Best thought it would be great for them to meet. One, because of the VMI connection and two, because she liked Sharon and wanted her to meet her son. Well, I loved that story and haven’t forgotten it so I thought it would be fun to revisit the wedding.

Since the birth of their son, Grant, a lot has changed for the Bests and from my point of view things have gone from good, better to BEST. (I couldn’t help that ).

Anyway, here is a slideshow of our trip to Coolidge Park and I hope you’ll take the time to see it.

The local chapter of the American Heart Association is one that we support. When the Hartleys bid and won our certificate they called for an appointment.

Getting three boys ready for photographs will challenge anyone. On top of that we wanted to meet at a place the boys would like. Since they had been to the carousel and loved it we decided to meet at Coolidge Park .

I know the boys had fun. Check out the slideshow and you’ll see what I mean.

Life is full of wonderful surprises and adventures. The surprise for me was to have the granddaughters of a dear friend come for photographs! Happiness, joy, blessed and love are just a few of the things I experienced when I met Halle Claire for the first time.

I was happy to see her parents, Amanda and Josh, whose wedding we photographed in 2007. I was blessed to see the joy on their faces as they introduced Miss Halle to me. And, there was quite a lot of love as I photographed this precious 6 month old, beautiful baby girl.

Heidi and Dustin traveled all the way from San Francisco to have me, their wedding photographer, take the first official professional photographer pictures of their bouncing, baby boy, Tyler. I am totally flattered!

Okay, they really came East to visit their parents in Tennessee and wanted to revisit Chattanooga because of happy memories of school, engagement and wedding. I just happened to be here but I am SO thrilled they thought of me and brought their eight week old son, Tyler.

He’s an alert and active little guy and I know deeply loved by his grandparents, Elaine and Tom, and Jo and Doug and Aunt Elizabeth. Congratulations Everyone and thanks for coming our way!

Once again I am amazed at how quickly the last six months has gone by. Raegan Grace first came for photographs when she was four months old and here she is such a big girl at one year old! I love her expressions and how well she handles coming to the studio. We’ve had a lot of fun with this little doll and I’m so thankful her mom, Amy, brings her to see us.

We were so glad to meet Ava Ruth. Her parents, Ashley and Andrew Ladebauche, are really like family to us. We first met Ashley and Andrew when they were engaged and looking for a wedding photographer. Thankfully, they chose us and our friendship has deepened since that wedding in October, 2005. In fact, they were our next door neighbors for several years! Anyway, Ava Ruth is here and we spent a delightful Saturday morning with her. As you can see, she is a beautiful, baby girl and there is no doubt that she is loved!

Olyve was simply delightful. This was her second time to see me and what fun we had. She was only two days away from her 1st birthday so we did a birthday party theme.
